BEFORE I BOUGHT MY STARTER KIT...I DIDN'T HAVE ANY MONEY AND GUESS WHAT..I STILL DON'T. MAYBE I WAS LOOKIN FOR A QUICK FIX. I AM 25, MARRIED MOTHER OF FOUR AND UNABLE TO CARRY A FULL TIME JOB. I BASICALLY HAD TO SAVE UP AND IT TOOK WEEKS! BUT THE REP NEVER GAVE UP. SHE CALLED ME EVERYWEEK UNTIL I HAD THE MONEY. I WAS EXCITED! NOW ITS 2 MONTHS LATER AND I HAVE THE SAME STARTER KIT..I MADE MY PROFIT OF WHAT I SPENT ON MARY KAY'S STARTER KIT THROUGH MY AVON SALES! MY UPLINE TELLS ME ALL THE TIME TO LEAVE THEM ALONE TAT THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT. SO FAR IT HAS..I SPENT 10.00 WITH AVON AND MADE CLOSE TO 500.00 IN THE SAME TIME FRAME TO MARY KAY'S 0.00. DAMN SHAME..I HONESTLY BE ON MY COMPUTER 24 HRS A DAY COMING UP WITH A SOLUTION OF WHAT I'M DOING WRONG. FUNNY STORY..I WENT OUT WITH MY UPLINE TO "TRAIN" ON HOW TO APPROACH PPL CAUSE I TRIED IT ON MY OWN AND I WAS GETTING NASTY LOOKS AND FEED BACKS LIKE I HAD A DISEASE. MY UPLINE WAS PRACTICALY CHASING AFTER PPL. WE FINALLY GOTTA HIT AND WERE TRAPPED BETWEEN 4 FEMALES CAKLING AND PINNED BETWEEN TWO CARS. BUT, THEY WEREN'T BUYING NOTHIN I BEGAN TALKIN TO ONE LADY AND GAVE HER MY CARD WHICH ADVERTISE BOTH BIZZ B4 YOU KNEW IT THE LADY SCREAMED OUT.."OH AVON TOO!" EVERYONE TURNED AROUND AND GAVE ME THEIR NUMBER...MY UPLINE HAD STEAM COMING OUT HER EARS!

Thats too extreme to say that I'm ignorant..embarassed no. Everythings a learning experience. Whats ignorant is those that have stayed in it for years ccontantly spending money and all they have to show for it is hopefully a pink car. I can live with out that too.

Hi girls! I'm a brand new member here, I read most of the complaints about Mary Kay, and decided I'm going to share my experience so far.

I signed up and bought my starter kit almost immediately after hearing the business plan. I knew right away I wouldn't let anyone talk me into doing more than I was willing to. I talked it over with my husband before purchasing anything. He agreed to the initial inventory order of $600 (I think... it may have only been $300, I don't really remember any more) So far I've done pretty good selling to friends and family. I have one extremely good customer who loves the products so much, she keeps buying Miracle Sets for her friends!
My whole thing is, I'm not worried about "moving up" in the company at all, & don't care what my director says. I'm having fun selling a little here and there. I don't need a Mary Kay car to do that. Like a few of you have already said, there are good and bad people in every company, and you just have to make the best of it. Don't let them badger you into doing anything you don't want to do. Use your starter kit to let people try the products, and order them what they want. MOST people are willing to pay up front and wait for the product. Make sure you give them a reciept stay honest! I have used my profits to order a product people are asking about, let them try mine in their own home, then order them their own!

Bottom line, you DO have to do a little bit of work, and you DON'T have to be pushed around by a greedy DIQ or Director.

Sorry if this seemed to ramble, I'm sleepy lol!
